AMIA Open Source EMR Review Statistics
IMIA/AMIA Posted by Fred Trotter on Tuesday April 04, 2006 @ 05:27 AM
from the AMIA/IMIA dept.
The AMIA Open Source EMR Review has developed a new method for studying version control systems. This is in order to make some objective statements about the development process from the three FOSS electronic medical record (EMR) projects being studied. Some of the interesting statistical results of developer activity for these 3 projects are:

  • ClearHealth/MirrorMed is being developed at almost double the rate of the other two projects per the relatively poor measure of lines of code per day.

  • OpenEMR is developed almost equally by several different people each from different companies.

  • Lastly, FreeMED is largely a one-man effort but has been in existence longer than the others.
