  SynSeer and IBM integrate MirrorMed and OHF

Over the past few weeks SynSeer (the sponsoring company for MirrorMed) has been going back and forth with IBM regarding the new Eclipse OHF project. This work started with the release the OHF bridge and has culminated in the integration of MirrorMed and Eclipse OHF.     I want to personally acknowledge the impressive work that SynSeer has done integrating MirrorMed and Eclipse Open Healthcare Framework. Through the OHF Bridge MirrorMed is now capable of accessing and storing patient's medical records from and into document repositories using healthcare standards (HL7, PIX, PDQ, XDS). Further, physicians using MirrorMed are now able to participate in regional health information networks.

    Eclipse Open Healhcare Framework is a collection of open source tools that simplify and speed up development of standards-based healthcare applications. It is gaining traction in the healthcare industry and being integrated into both commercial and open source EMR products. In addition to MirrorMed, openEMR has integrated with Eclipse OHF. Together, open source EMR applications and open source interoperability tools are giving physicians lower-cost standards-based option for managing patient's medical records.
