  Medwiki, the medical wiki
Medical Education Posted by Davidson Paulo on Monday June 25, 2007 @ 09:02 AM
from the Medicine and Free Software togheter to provide free Medicine knowledge dept.

What happens when a fan of Free Software and wikies wish to motivate your girlfriend to her Medicine studies? You could think in many things but possibly not to create a multilanguage wiki about Medicine and human health to her, but was exactly that what I did, and I couldn't choose a best gift.

This way has borned in 2006 Medwiki, the medical wiki, today available in two languages, Brazilian Portuguese and English, where free (as is air) knowledge about Medicine and human health are being built and growing.

Medwiki was created and is hosted on SourceForge.net, which provides many interesting and useful resources to the project like forums, mailing lists, tasks tracking, support requests, news and more.

Actually, you won't find many articles on the English version, which have been created recently and, at this time, it's slightly receiving content, help pages etc. If you want ot help Medwiki to grow, contact one of the project administrators on the project page

Good idea. I can see this project becoming very useful. I didn't digg it but I did submit it to fsdaily.com which is much more free software aligned.

Please consider adding "FSD it!" links to your articles. Perhaps like the ones used on freesoftwaremagazine.com articles.

    Anyway...

    Cheers
