Re: California HealthCare: Open Source Market Asse

Great work!
It should be noted that one of the applications reviewed ( PrimaCare pcdom.org.my ) is not truly open source. Not the fault of the authors/reviewers because they do advertise that they are open source (GPL) and have won open source awards in Malaysia, yet none of their customers are allowed to re-distribute the application. This is a well known debate on open source mailing lists in Malaysia, within OSHCA and on the OpenHealth mailing list (yahoo groups).
Also noted is that TORCH didn't completely die when it's lead developer (me) left the project. One of the primary contributors took over. Dr. Michael Rowley has kept the torch burning though he isn't as public as he could be. He has been busy evolving it with the framework, adding more practice management features and adding a complete accounting system for primary care clinics. The website is at http://www.torchmd.org/ If he had a good community builder to help with that aspect this would be a wonderful addition to the community. TORCHMD is really a complete re-write of what I did. Just using some of the same basic concepts. I know that he is working closely on some RHIO related stuff as well. Since I am working outside the US now it would be great if he had a US based "community manager" help him in developing this area.
