FreeMED 0.7.2 Released

FreeMED 0.7.2 has been released by the FreeMED Software Foundation and FreeMED MA, Inc. It is recommended that all users of previous versions upgrade. This is the last major release before version 0.8.0. More information and download links are available in the main story.

This new release contains many bug fixes and new features. This release is available in tarballs or as a Debian package at the download page on sourceforge.

Main changes:
Allow EMR view components to be moved around
+ Annotations now come up as “tooltip” sticky notes on records
+ Claims manager can now post checks, mark as billed and queue for bill
+ Fax back cover page enabled
+ Lock override added
+ Message system fleshed out, with multiple recipients, et cetera
+ Progress note notification added in appointment scheduler
+ Provider day and week calendars rewritten in group calendar style (much nicer UI)
+ REMITT now passes second payer properly
+ User groups (for sending messages, et cetera) added
+ Utility modules class added
+ XMLRPC: add GET type authentication (?user=USERNAME&hash=MD5SUM) for nsXmlRpcClient
– Removed old pieces of last billing system

* CRITICAL: Makefiles did not include agata engine or tex templates
* Fix rich text area displayes with “no_template_display” in newskin
* Patient lookup widget usability fix
