| Rx for Sinus Infection: Yellow Highlighter? |

from the Not-So-Clever-in-Marketing dept.
My mother-in-law recently visited her primary-care-provider, after failing to shake a sinus infection. After a brief examination, the Doc offered her some free samples of a nasal spray medication that would help to clear the infection up. Mom thanked the Doc and promptly left with sample in-hand... Digg this article
When she arrived home, try-as-she-might, she could not figure how to open the nasal spray. After arriving at our home in the evening, she enlisted the aid of my wife, in trying to figure out how to open the nasal spray sample.
Finally, the top popped off, revealing some sort of applicator that had a yellow, felt-like tip. The chisel point gave it away.. the Doc mistakenly gave my mother-in-law a yellow-highlighter promo-piece made to look exactly like the nasal spray product it was promoting.
I can't help thinking that somewhere, somebody has just sprayed a sentence in an article that they were reading, and are waiting for the text to turn yellow.

I have major problems with sinuses. Even though I have tried numerous antibiotics, nasal sprays, and even allergy shots. I am sick of getting an infection every 3 months. If anybody has tried something else, and it worked, please let me know. Thank you

Hi,
I am an M.D. and to my best knowledge, for definite and 5 min. therapy of rhinitis/flu with running nose is just to clow your hair-dryer into your nostrils. It should be the maximum hot that your skin does not get any burns and also pls. do not inhale strongly as it might cause some lung problems.
The scientific evidence is: Most of the viruses that create the disease (common cold) have an affinity to nasal mucosa...Because in cold, the nasal mucosa temparature is well below normal core body temparature; around 34 Celcius Degrees, our immune system fails to work efficiently and they win the battle. And when they are crowded enough, they start invading our Sinuses or Lower Respiratory Tract. So if you can beat them before they get too crowded, by increasing the temparature to around 39 Celcius Degrees when our immune cells work at greatest efficiency then you just eliminate the disease before it even manifests itself.
And I also recommend that you take max allowable Vit C and Fish oil and very important elementary Zinc!
Best regards,
Dr. Koray Atalag
