FreeMedForms project reaches version 0.8.0

It is always a pleasure to announce the official release of the new stable version 0.8.0 of the FreeMedForms project. This anniversary version (the FreeMedForms EMR one and its main admin) brings two major innovations:

  • one structured Alert Manager, which is built on an analysis of the most recent scientific publications;
  • the ability to use your webcam to take pictures for your patients. This is the first step of importing image in general.

  • Latest Enterprise Web Developer with easy to install yum or apt-get install ewd-astro (gets you all the way to a browser session) https encryption installed by default.
  • Regression tested and bug fixes so that all the TMG goodies work (tmg-cprs, VistA-config).

Stand Up Workstation

Living a sedentary life in front of a sit down type computer workstation is an occupational hazard. It definitely statistically shortens your life. As a software engineer weird back aches belly bulge and other minor health problems despite much exercise have been a chronic problem for me. After thirty years of sitting at a workstation, I have finally changed to a stand up workstation to safeguard my health. It came about almost by accident when I purchased a used steel file cabinet.

OpenEMR 4.1.1 is released

The OpenEMR community has released version 4.1.1. This new version continues to maintain Official ONC Complete Ambulatory EHR Certification and has numerous new features including 19 language translations, full support for ICD9, ICD10 and SNOMED coding, support for 5010 billing standards, compatibility with new PHP and MySQL versions and improved performance. OpenEMR 4.1.1 can be downloaded from the OpenEMR Project website at www.open-emr.org . Thanks goes to the OpenEMR community for producing this release.
