Press Release: “The not-for-profit Harris County Health Information Cooperative (HCHIC) is sponsoring an intensive, vendor-neutral Educational Conference: “Introduction to WorldVistA EHR System Administration”. This three day weekend education event December 7th-9th, 2007 will be held in Houston, Texas. This conference will be limited to 20 participants and has a low introductory rate. 10% of the proceeds benefit the not-for-profit WorldVistA organization with the rest of the proceeds benefiting the not-for-profit HCHIC. Audience: Would-be implementers and system administrators of the Veterans Affairs (VA) VistA or WorldVistA Electronic Health Record software. This education conference is intended for technical and support personnel. It is NOT intended for end users.
Prerequisites: Prior knowledge of computers or computer support such as experience as a system administrator, computer science or related degree is required. Laptop required. Internet connectivity by wired or wireless will be provided.
Educational Goals: Installation and configuration of a reasonably useful WorldVistA EHR system. Student will know how to download VistA Demo Appliance and configure selected parts of VistA and CPRS. Extensive educational materials will be provided on CD at the conference.
