The SourceForge OpenEMR group adds two new board members.

The SourceForge OpenEMR group would like to announce the recent addition of two board members, Dr. Michiel Bosman of the Netherlands and Dr. Mark Leeds of Florida.

The SourceForge OpenEMR group would like to announce the recent addition of two board members, Dr. Michiel Bosman of the Netherlands and Dr. Mark Leeds of Florida.

Dr. Bosman is a medical doctor licensed in 1995. He is a Consultant Psychiatrist in the Netherlands. He is CEO of Bosman GGZ, a mental health institute with ambulatory care centers in major cities in the Netherlands. Furthermore he is President of the European College of Physician Executives, a not-for-profit organisation whose sole purpose is to support physicians in acquiring the leadership skills and credentials necessary to effectively lead at all levels in organizations and in all sectors of the health care industry. In 2007 Dr. Bosman earned his Master of Medical Management degree from Carnegie Mellon University.

Mark Leeds, D.O. is in family practice in Oakland Park, Florida and has been using OpenEMR in his practice since 2005. Dr. Leeds has been very active in the OpenEMR development community. He developed the formscript.pl form making tool for OpenEMR. He created the CAMOS form and uses it daily in his practice. Dr. Leeds has also made important contributions to make OpenEMR compatible with PHP5 and MySQL5.

Dr. Bosman and Dr. Leeds join Open Source Medical Software (OSMS) at a time when OSMS are assisting with modifications with a large multi-country medical foundation (name withheld at this time). Rod Roark is handling these modifications. The multilanguage features and ease of use of OpenEMR were its most attractive features.

In addition, Dr. Bosman’s group, Bosman GGZ, in the Netherlands have been working on a Dutch billing system that is in its final stages of development. The Netherlands group has also translated OpenEMR into Dutch. Both the Dutch billing system and the Dutch translation should be available for the next release of OpenEMR.
